How It Works

How will I receive my funds? Answer

You will be sent a check in the mail. It may take up to 3 weeks after your sign the documents to receive your check.

What if some of the information is incorrect on my agreement…ie. spelling of name, address, phone number, or business name...? Answer

If there is any issue with your agreement please email covidrelieffund@tularewib.org. In the e-mail please tell us the name of the business, as well as the application and vendor number (top right corner of the agreement), and tell us what information is incorrect and needs to be updated. We will work on getting the data corrected and send you a new agreement.

I don’t want to sign the agreement, how do I decline receiving the grant now? Answer

If you decide not to accept the grant funding, then you will not sign the document. You may email covidrelieffund@tularewib.org to notify us of your decision.

What if I don’t have Rent to pay because I work out of my home? Answer

If you work out of your home and your business claims to pay business rent on your taxes, then you may use the funds to pay the businesses portion of the mortgage in proportion to what is claimed on the tax return.

What does “Utilities” include? Answer

Electric, Gas, Water, Trash, Phone, and Internet Bill.

What if I don’t spend all the money? Answer
    The Grantee must return any Funds not used by October 31, 2020 to COUNTY no later than November 30, 2020
What if I lost or don’t have receipts or invoices for purchases I made prior to receiving the grant? Answer

You must have documentation for any purchases that you make using the grant funding. This includes past purchases. If you do not have documentation of a purchase then the funds may not be used to cover those costs.

How long will it take to get the check in the mail after I sign the agreement? Answer

It can take up to three weeks to receive your check in the mail from the County of Tulare.

Can I change my answer on what I said I would spend the money on? Answer

Yes, as long as the money is spent on allowable costs.

What happens if I spend the money on a non eligible expense? Answer

If it comes to our attention that you have spent grant funding on non eligible expenses, then you will be asked to send the funding back to the County.

Will I be taxed on the grant money I receive from the County? Answer

This is a question that is best answered by your accountant or bookkeeper.

What do I do if the check never comes after I sign the agreement? Answer

If you sign the agreement and do not receive a check within three weeks, you can send an email to covidrelieffund@tularewib.org and our team will look into the issue for you.
